Electric guitars are pivotal in a modern worship mix. They bring SO MUCH energy to the mix. 

The tone of the guitar always starts with the guitar player. He/She has to be a solid player and understand the type of ambience worship needs in this day and age. BUT they also need to know when to make their tone aggressive and BIG. 

When mixing electric guitars in a live worship mix you need them fill the space that the bass guitar and keyboards usually miss. Thats the midrange. if the guitar tone is good then it will naturally fill that space. 

Electric guitars SHOULD be stereo. With delay and reverb FX you will miss out on the full tone of the guitar. Go stereo always!
