Honestly though, can a DI acoustic sound good?
Yes, it can. But it will take a lot of precision work and recreating the sound.
I will say, if you can overdub the acoustic in a studio with microphones capturing it that will be a better way to get the end result you're after.
BUT if you're like me and either don't have the time or the guitar player willing to overdub or the performance was solid in the live session, then you have no choice other than to do your absolute best to make that DI acoustic sound like it was recorded in a studio.
